When you have salt in your bath for a vaginal infection is it meant to sting?

curious to know what infection is that you are trying to treat with salt...

yikes.

was that doctor recommended? When you have salt in your bath for a vaginal infection is it meant to sting?
well it smells like a fish, so a bit of salty water should keep it happy smelling like a fish. When you have salt in your bath for a vaginal infection is it meant to sting?
well if you have scratched tourself and caused a bit of soreness its bound to sting. I think you can rest assured it wont do you any harm. no pain no gain.
Erm.. i dont think it should!
It stings because the infection damaged your vagina, tearing up the skin (a little). When you get salt beneath your skin, it stings. But it also helps your body fight the infection.
no not normally, but you should only be putting in about two tablespoons of salt in the bath
EEEEHHH! Wrong everybody. The worst thing you can do if you have a vaginal infection or bladder infection is to take a bath. It is cleaner to take a shower. If you have stinging, I would go to your GYN Dr. Never take a chance with your sexual equipment. and get up to date information on keeping yourself healthy.
Ouch!!! It sounds as though you have put way too much salt in and not swished the bath water around. Back in 1998 when I had my first daughter the midwives told me to put salt in the water to help heal the wound. I filled the bath up and added and egg cup full of salt and yes over time it healed my wound. Id suggest that you go to see your GP and tell them that its stinging even though you are having a salt bath, to see if they can give you antibiotics as they usually clear up any infection. If a midwife has told you to have a salt bath clearly theyre wrong because when I had my second daughter in 2001 they told me not to have a salt bath as it causes infection, although 2 and a half years earlier it was ok. Id see my GP in I was you. If you dont want to see your GP then go to a walk in centre or ring NHS direct. Failing that carry on with what your doing and use less salt.
Well, if you scratched down there (if it was itchy), then it would sting because of the broken skin, but if not, then it shouldn't sting, maybe you should go to the doctor?
try it na
no,maybe the water is to hot
Put salt anywhere wounded or sore and of course it stings - it is working though!
Sure, if your infection involves the ';outside'; area also. Go to the drugstore and pick up some Betadyne. Fill your bathtub just enough to fit your bottom, add a little of this. I was advised to take these soaks after having children, and it never burned.
what kind of salt are you using?

is it epsom salt?
I have never heard of using salt in your bath for this type of infection.

But yes it would sting because salt in a cut on your finger would sting. %26amp; If your infection has opened up a wound down there, than chances are that is where the salt is making it sting.
Salt always stings.
to much salt
If you have an open sore, it will.
Salt? Who told you to use salt? If its yeast, go get anti-fungal or plain yogurt.....
Maybe a little
Yes. It defintaly stinks.
No, if it does you have added to much salt!!
