What do bath salts do for your skin and body?

When my father returned from the Bahamas, he brought back some perfumed bath salts. I've been using them because they smell nice but I was wondering what they do for your skin. Do they have any positive affects for your inner body as well? What do bath salts do for your skin and body?
Bath salts provide a variety of benefits to a bather. Skin Benefits Draws out impurities in skin Soothes skin irritations such as psoriasis/eczema Soothes itching, burning and bites Smoothes and softens skin. Encourages skin to renew itself Helps scars to heal Restores moisture balance to the skin , Salts change the osmotic balance of the water so that less water is absorbed by the skin via osmosis. This reduces the ';pruning'; or ';wrinkling'; effect of prolonged exposure of skin to fresh water. Magnesium sulfate has been shown to be absorbed through the skin and also has an anti-inflammatory effect. Some bath salts such as phosphates have a detergent action which softens calloused skin and aids in exfoliation.

High concentrations of salts increase the specific gravity of the water and increase buoyancy which makes the body feel lighter in the bath. Very high concentrations of salts in water are used in flotation therapy.

Physiological Helps detoxify the body and ward off viruses Stimulates natural circulation for improved health Helps relieve athlete's foot, corns, and calluses Relaxes tense, aching muscles and joints Helps relieve arthritis and rheumatism Helps relieve chronic lower back pain

Psycho-physical Provides deep relaxation Helps relieve stress and tension Promotes restfulness. What do bath salts do for your skin and body?
If you rub bath salts on your skin, they remove dead skin and leave you feeling smooth. I make homemade ones so that I can put in tons of greats scents.
It takes off the dead skin cells. You should bathe in it.
