Although I donate or give away most of the bath salts, oils and candles I make I can give you some hints. Epsom salts along with your powdered milk makes a wonderful base for bath salts and it is cheap, takes fragrance or color well and can have herbs, essential oils and other additives as well. Candlemaking has become even easier with the new types of kits that are available because you can experiement with different types of wax, wicks, color and fragrance formulations. Most craft stores, like Michaels, sell all of the ingredients you would need to get started up and then there are online resources once you get established for buying in bulk. You may want to start small by selling at local craft and street faires because it is inexpensive and gives you direct contact with your consumers which will give you valuable information and feedback. milk is actually a good addition to bath salts. Ive actually seen some bath salts with milk added to them. in the salt that you'll use in the bath satls, you can either use ordinary sea salts, dead sea salts, or himalayan salts. you can also add epsom salts or use it as it is.
1 part epsom salts, 1/4 part powdered milk ( for a cream bath), enough drops of essential oils to get the scent you like. Stay away from the coloring drops if you add the powdered milk. Fill clean glass jars and seal with wax, if desired. Wrap with a beautiful ribbon and include a wooden scoop. Add a label and sell for about 8-12 bucks a jar. Start selling them at craft fairs and see where that takes you. Good luck!
